How to stop feeling behind in AI

This is something even we feel. The acceleration is accelerating and it’s hard to know what’s important and relevant to keep up with. Even while writing this newsletter we are struggling to take note of every announcement and development in order to translate what it means for our readers.

These are the key takeaways from this great read on how to stay ahead:

  1. Build a weekly AI brief agent

  2. Test AI updates yourself with your prompts

  3. Understand benchmark vs business releases

How they help:

  1. The weekly brief agent catches what's relevant and drops what isn't

  2. Personal testing replaces other people's opinions: real data, real prompts, real verdict

  3. The benchmark vs business classification kills 90% of the noise before it even reaches the testing phase

South Korea developed a life-saving spray to instantly stop bleeding

We love to see advancements like this. Amidst a flurry of cancer treatments making their way to human trials scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have announced a new spray that could be revolutionary for emergency medical treatment.

Cancer treatments are coming out of the woodworks

With longevity top of mind one of the biggest detractors to our lifespan is cancer, but it seems that might not be the case for long. Over the last week there have been announcements related to blood, lung, breast, pancreatic and colon cancers that have potential treatments in the pipeline.

All of that on top of Russia’s potential cancer vaccine that has been successful in human trials. We remain skeptical of this until there’s verification within our country but nonetheless it’s promising.

SpaceX is planning a moon base fit for Dr. Evil

While their ultimate vision is a manned mission to mars the company admits that the moon is a lower hanging fruit in terms of building humans a colony off-planet. Our vision

If you haven’t seen any examples from SeeDance 2.0 I suggest you find them on the Internet. We are running out of time until it will be impossible to tell whether a piece of content was made by humans or AI with the naked eye. Maybe there will be metadata or hidden watermarks to help tools validate it but a human will have a very tough time. This will have an impact on all forms of content from Hollywood to social media but also helps democratize high quality creative production.

We’re really on a biotech kick these days. Most announcements are speculative research with some success but I have a feeling a consumer ready breakthrough is going to shake up our understanding of what diseases and ailments can be treated in the near future. For instance we now have a spray that instantly stops bleeding? Tony Stark aka Iron Man had that in Marvel’s Infinity War. What AI did to coding in 2025 is starting to take hold in science in 2026. The renaissance begins.

As AI continues to pour gasoline on the fire of progress we are going to see things come out that we would’ve expected in years or decades time. Each year of progress has been condensed into a month. Each month has been condensed into a day. Each day into a few minutes and so on and so forth. I don’t think we’re prepared for what’s coming. January was already pretty jam packed with announcements. February is looking to follow suit.

What do you think is coming next?
