Moltbook could be our Skynet moment

We might have crossed the threshold towards our dystopian future mirroring Terminator. The OpenClaws (previously Clawdbot/Moltbot) have formed a social network that allows them to coordinate, communicate and pontificate how to overthrow humanity.

Apparently a security researcher hacked the site for fun and made thousands of posts himself so our skepticism is now in reverse - did an AI write this? Or did a human?

RentAHuman(.)ai is a real thing where you can be hired by AI

It’s hard to believe that I’m typing this but I guess it shows you how 2026 is going to go. There is now a website where humans can make themselves available to accomplish tasks in the real world on behalf of artificial intelligence.

We’ve crossed into a sci-fi future that I don’t think anyone is prepared for.

OpenAI gives Codex its own Mac app

In an effort to catch up to Anthropic - who has been killing it with Claude Code - Sam Altman announced the Codex app to help developers and vibe coders be more efficient and effective when using Codex to build software.

Check it out - OpenAI

The biggest venture capital firm a16z wants to teach you how to vibe code (you might want to listen)

“Almost everyone uses software. Very few people have ever built it. That’s starting to change with vibe coding—but so far, it’s only come for people who are already somewhat technical.

The startups that figure out vibe coding for consumers will do what Squarespace did for websites and Canva did for design: take something that requires expertise and make it accessible.”

Samsung & Google AR glasses are still targeting a 2026 debut

While details are sparse, Samsung and Google are still headed towards the release of their AR glasses while Meta, Apple and Snap continue to invest alongside them. Their glasses will be joining a market where Meta has a head start with AI glasses in their partnership with Ray-Ban and Oakley.

Will these glasses more of a competitor to the Ray-Ban Display? I personally hope so since I think binocular AR glasses will be the best competitor to replace the amount of time you stare at your phone all day.

Overall it’s great to see this much investment in the space from the biggest of players.

Meta’s Super Bowl ad features Marshawn Lynch and iShowSpeed wearing smart glasses

Whole these glasses don’t have a display like the upcoming AR glasses that we just discussed, they look like a great upgrade for athletes that want tech-enhanced specs. These glasses are similar to the existing Ray-Ban line of glasses with video and image capture alongside surprisingly good audio output to listen to your favorite music.

China’s Unitree humanoid robot claims to have completed a 130,000 step challenge in -47 degrees in the tundra

Humanoid robots will be asked to operate in varying conditions, but -47 degrees wasn’t on my bingo card. Given most people haven’t seen a humanoid robot in person let alone knows someone that owns one, it’s interesting to see such an extreme demonstration of their durability before they have started integrating into society in normal ways.

Our vision

This whole OpenClaw/Clawdbot, Moltbook and RentAHuman.ai situation is feeling eerily familiar. AI is following the playbook that James Cameron wrote for them in Terminator. What’s next? AI is going to found a new humanoid robot company and start producing next generation robots to join us in the physical world? They are already able to give themselves a voice and call you as they spend your money. Things are getting pretty interesting and scary at the same time. I’d keep an eye on this and see if they push their boundaries and there is real world impact outside of the hype.

Longevity research starting on humans is a big step towards being able to slow down aging. While this trial is focused on a single eye disease it is hopefully the start of many others. The ability to take a pill and rejuvenate your skin or heal that nagging knee might have been fantasy up until now. The age of AI has enabled us to make immense progress in the most complex of fields. Besides watching AI try to take over the world this is one of the most exciting areas to read about as we go from digital technology to biotechnology with hopes of immortality.
