Disney investing $1 billion into OpenAI so you can make videos with Darth Vader
OpenAI’s Sora will be able to generate user-prompted social videos that can include more than 200 Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars characters. It will be incredibly interesting to watch how this all plays out. There will undoubtably be great content produced but some wacky stuff is definitely going to find it’s way to our feeds.
In addition to giving Sora access to their intellectual property, Disney is giving their employees access to DisneyGPT to become more efficient and supercharge their imagination. I’m jealous to type this next one. They are even building a more advanced J.A.R.V.I.S. that will be enabled in the future.

a16z backed Oboe is here to generate courses tailored to what you want to learn
As a perpetual learner this platform is quite intriguing. It reminds me of the scene from Star Trek where Spock is in his own capsule talking with AI through a mathematics lesson. The future of education could very well be personalized and driven by AI but as I assume many others agree we’ll need a human touch involved.

Our vision
OpenAI’s red alert produced two major updates in GPT 5.2 and their updated image model. At this point the real winner is consumers. We are getting access to the latest and greatest every single month.
Disney opening the doors to OpenAI’s models will bring us some intriguing content. Keep an eye out for the update to Sora and a flood of Buzz Lightyear and Darth Vader videos.
2026 should be a big year for smart glasses. Both AI and display glasses (some with pucks) will continue to hit the market from big names and random entrants to the market. But will the software be enticing enough to see an inflection point like we’d like to see in the industry? AI should be a catalyst since it’s proven to be a staple of both Google and Meta’s strategies across device form factors.
When the release of unsupervised autonomous driving intersects with the Tesla semi gaining significant market share we will see a revolution in the transportation of goods around the country. Maybe we’ll invest in a fleet of autonomous semis and join the fun.
