Our 100th edition of This Week in Tech
Before we get started we’d like to thank those of you that have been reading since day 1 as well as everyone that has joined the community along the way. We’ve watched countless breakthroughs change the way society, from building products with AI, architecting critical infrastructure, sending rockets to space (and back) on top of biotech advancements promising longevity.
While we still don’t have our personal R2D2, C3-PO or flying cars, the world of technology is progressing at a faster pace each and every year. We’re hoping by the end of 2026 we’ll have one of them at least. We’re looking at you Disney, Figure and Tesla.
Either way, you can count on us to research, digest and explain what all the announcements mean, why you should care and what actions you can take to improve your career and daily lives for years to come.

The creations that Nano Banana is putting together are shocking people across the internet. Countless creators are sharing their example prompts and the wild output they are getting. High quality images, one shot podcast infographics and more are just the beginning.
Gemini 3 continues to permeate industries the week after its release
With the release of the latest version of Gemini, Google starts to show the world why they are becoming the leader of AI technology that is ready for the masses. This update in addition to Nano Banana Pro is demonstrating the progress Google is capable of making in a short amount of time.
A new Manhattan Project for AI launched as the Genesis Mission
President Trump has launched the Genesis Mission via Executive Order, establishing a coordinated national effort to accelerate AI-driven scientific discovery. Modeled after the Manhattan Project, the mission is managed by the Department of Energy (DOE) and aims to build the American Science and Security Platform to harness federal scientific datasets for training AI models in priority areas like advanced manufacturing and nuclear energy.

While they can’t immediately usher paid customers around the entire state of California Google is optimistic that the continued expansion of their service will benefit both the consumer and technology that is powering the autonomous ride hailing service.
Space
SpaceX’s upgraded Starship explodes during testing
SpaceX rolled out an upgraded version of its Starship rocket booster in South Texas last Thursday to begin testing, and just a few hours later, something inside it exploded. This isn’t uncommon for the space giant, as their motto is if you’re not failing you’re not innovating.
Amazon unveils their Starlink competitor
The Leo Ultra may only be for businesses this year but it is a step towards a world where there are multiple options for space-based Internet. They claim it is the fastest customer terminal in production but we’ll see how true that is as it comes to market.
Our vision
As we head towards 2026 (time flies!) we are seeing a rapid expansion across many domains where advancements are becoming more frequent. Each week we see new robots being announced by new companies and the progress is astounding. Now Disney is bringing more of their characters to life with their latest innovations which I’m sure we’ll see more of over time.
We’re excited to see the space race continue into next year as the battle heats up between Elon and Bezos and their respective companies SpaceX and Blue Origin. It’s like watching a sci-fi tv show play out in real life as two billionaires duke it out to colonize a new land except it’s the vastness of space above our blue dot. With another rocket exploding for SpaceX and a new product launch at Amazon to compete with Starlink it doesn’t look like there is room for error as these companies move at the speed of light.
The Genesis Mission and Google’s latest announcements demonstrate the United States’ resolve to push forward as the leader in artificial intelligence with an eye on being the most advanced and dominant nation in the industry. For the past few years there were questions if Google was going to release their internally developed AI projects for fear of the impact on society but now it seems competitors have forced their hands. We are now in the age where these AI models are striking fear into the heart of some while others feel inspired and have become more efficient when putting beautiful works of art together with Nano Banana Pro.
If we are going to continue this trek towards abundance we will need a strong framework for AI governance and its impact across every industry. At the heart of most breakthroughs these days is an AI model that enhanced the capabilities of mere humans. We are excited to see where the Genesis Mission is applied next year and if meaningful research is done on society-impacting problems or if it’s just another way for the country to make money.
